We listened to our customers who told us they wanted even more from the venerable AlgoRhythm Solo, like balanced output, longer play times, charging and other features, like a 24/192 DAC capable of working with Apple devices AND computers. We created the AlgoRhythm Solo -dB to include the most sought after features, combining several products into one at an affordable price.



We also refreshed the AlgoRhythm Solo as the AlgoRhythm Solo -R and gave it the same long play time and charging. Don't need balanced output or computer audio? Then this is the product for you - new lower price.

iPod Classic and iPad – Certified?

Will the AlgoRhythm Solo -dB work with other Apple devices, such as the iPod Classic and iPad? Yes. The iPod Classic uses a very different firmware from the newer devices and Cypher Labs has implemented code in our firmware that allows it to work. The iPad is not listed as supported simply because the power required to charge is higher than the mini USB cable will deliver. The iPad works correctly with the AlgoRhythm Solo -dB and AlgoRhythm Solo –R.

Apple Lighting Connector

The introduction of the new Lightning connector is a big change for owners of docks and amplifiers. For the new slate of Apple devices, only digital USB line out docks will provide audiophile quality sound. The new connector is required for accessories to authenticate to the Apple device. Owners or prospective owners of the AlgoRhythm Solo –dB or AlgoRhythm Solo –R can take advantage of high resolution audio from existing Apple products and the new iPod, iPhone, Nano and even the Shuffle. Because Cypher Labs products receive USB audio data from the Apple USB output via standard cables, we are ready for the new devices.

Cypher Labs is already in the process of producing a new short Lightning cable and will make it available to dealers, such as ALO Audio, Mixwave, etc. We suggest browsing your favorite dealer's site for the cable once we announce it here.
